A symposium held both online and in person April 10 will celebrate histories of local Black families.
Hosted by the Department of History in conjunction with the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, “Local Family Histories on Display: the Black Inhabitants of Windsor-Essex and their Stories of Resistance, Oppression, Community, and Agency” will include student-led presentations and a panel discussion “Rooted in Windsor-Essex: the Significance of Local Family Histories.”
The event is free to attend and will run 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in person at the SoCA Armouries or online via Microsoft Teams: join here.
