A little sweetness can go a long way on St. Valentine’s Day.
First-year psychology major Kajal Prajapati was surprised to receive a free candy Wednesday in the CAW Student Centre, courtesy of Local 1393 of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.
“It’s nice,” she said as she and friends chose from chocolate, gum balls, and maple candies labelled “We Love Students” and wishing them success in approaching mid-term exams.
It was just a tangible way to show appreciation, said volunteer Renee Bombardier, a graphic designer in the Office of Public Affairs and Communications.
“It’s a small but heartfelt gesture of gratitude for the students, reminding them that we know they’re the reason we’re here,” she said.
