The Armouries building, home to the School of Creative Arts, will also play host to BookFest Windsor, a celebration of all things literary, Oct. 12 to 15.

This year’s theme is “Conversations with Authors,” inviting audiences to enjoy readings, staged performances, book signings, and what audiences have come to love most: informal, intimate conversations with authors from across Canada.

Among the highlights with a UWindsor connection:

• As part of a Friday the 13th foray into fiction, professor Carol Margaret Davison will read from her novel Bodysnatcher, a Gothic tale of poverty, desperation, love, and loss set against the backdrop of a nineteenth-century Scotland in the throes of rebellion and transition.
• Alumnus Gordon Grisenthwaite (BA 2018, MA 2020) will sign in from the Yulon to present his recent short story collection during a virtual event, a Saturday morning panel titled “Stories that Connect Us.”
• Professor André Narbonne says he is “delighted to be participating in one of the top literary festivals in Canada” as a panellist for the Books and Brunch event Sunday morning at the Fourteen Restaurant and Sky Lounge.
