As Henry Wadsworth Longfellow wrote, “Into each life some rain must fall,” but a wet Thursday didn’t stop UWindsor students from enjoying activities during the first day of classes.
The precipitation delayed the inflatables portion of the Adrenaline Rush carnival, but students crowded into the tent between Dillon and Memorial halls for informative activities hosted by campus groups. Attendees had the opportunity learn about academic integrity, environmental responsibility and support services.
When the sun eventually broke through, organizers inflated a mock jousting ring and other bouncy sporting competitions. A photo album from the day’s activities is posted to the UWindsor Facebook page.
The next major event on the UWindsor Welcome Week calendar is Shine Day. On Saturday, Shinerama volunteers will hit the streets to raise funds for research and treatments for cystic fibrosis. Additional events will continue through September; find a full schedule at www.uwindsor.ca/windsorwelcome.
