The Lancer football team will look to better its 3-1 record when it hosts the Guelph Gryphons, Saturday, October 1, at 7 p.m. on Alumni Field.
The game is the centrepiece of a weekend’s worth of events which opens Friday with a soccer doubleheader against the McMaster Marauders. The women play at 7 p.m. and the men at 9:15 p.m.
Friday evening also features separate receptions for graduates of human kinetics programs, football alumni, and fans of the Blue & Gold.
Saturday’s football game is a chance for the Lancers – currently tied for second in Ontario University Athletics – to secure a playoff berth. Sophomore quarterback Austin Kennedy is currently fourth overall in the OUA with 954 passing yards, and seventh overall in rushing with 245 yards.
On Sunday, the Alumni Sports Hall of Fame will induct four new members. Lancer soccer will meet the Brock Badgers on Alumni Field; the women at 1 p.m. and the men at 3:15 p.m.
Athletics staff ask fans to show their pride by sporting blue and gold at the weekend’s events and will be handing out prizes to the most enthusiastic boosters.
