UWindsor education professor Lana Parker is one of the expert panellists who will discuss “The Future of Online Education in Ontario” in an online event Thursday, April 28.
Organized by the Institute for Research on Digital Literacies at York University, the event aims to facilitate interdisciplinary conversations about the future of online education and to bridge the gap between research and practice.
Joining Dr. Parker to discuss the use, misuse, and potential of online education in Ontario are:
- moderator Beyhan Farhadi, cluster lead for digital learning, technology, and new pedagogies at the Institute for Research on Digital Literacies, research associate with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, and secondary school teacher in the Toronto District School Board;
- Sarah Barrett, associate professor in the Faculty of Education at York University;
- Deborah Buchanan-Walford, secondary school teacher and community activist; and
- Lynn Thomas, secondary school teacher and digital lead learner in the Grand Erie District School Board.
