Volleyball Canada has named Lancer libero Steven Abrams to its under-21 men’s squad, Team Canada announced Friday.
The team is made up of athletes with the potential to represent the country at the 2028 Olympic Games and will compete in the world championship tournament scheduled to take place in Italy and Bulgaria from Sept. 23 to Oct. 3.
In June 2020, Abrams became the first Lancer ever to be named to the Canadian Junior national team.
Team Canada head coach Ryan Marsden said he is excited for training to begin in Gatineau, Quebec, July 5.
“We have selected a very good group of athletes that can’t wait to represent our country,” he said. “We appreciate all the support of those who made this program possible in 2021.”
