More than 3,000 prospective students and their families attended the University of Windsor open house Saturday, March 7 — an increase of 37 per cent over last spring’s numbers.
Chris Busch, associate vice-president for enrolment management, says the welcoming faces sharing what it means to be “Windsor Proud” made the day a success.
“This event does not happen without the collective efforts of the entire campus community: faculty, staff, and our outstanding students,” says Busch.
Among the additions to the open house itinerary were a café offering warm beverages and information to parents, hosted by the Alumni Association with support from Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island; student organizations providing a hub outlining opportunities for engagement in campus life; and promotion of the “Your Degree. Your Direction” initiative.
Busch also credited improvements that helped to make visitors feel welcome:
- opening the Registrar’s Office to answer admissions questions and help applicants accept their offers;
- better signage and pavement decals to aid in wayfinding; and
- individualized invitations and enriched marketing materials.
“Thanks to all who spent your Saturday with us to demonstrate all Windsor has to offer students,” Busch says.
