A reception Friday fêted the accomplishments of more than 300 students who earned places on the Dean’s Honour Roll, or who entered the faculty this fall with an entrance average of at least 90 percent.
Dean Marlys Koschinsky noted that the 340 students celebrated at the event marks a new high.
“Over the past few years, the number of students qualifying for this recognition has been steadily increasing,” she said. “This increase in numbers is a direct reflection of our dedication to attracting the best and brightest students to the Faculty of Science.”
Each of the honourees received a gift set that included a USB memory stick, a miniature pen and stylus. They also heard an address by alumnus Gary Kalaci (BSc 2005, LLB 2009, MBA 2009), co-founder of Alexa Translations, a company providing translation, interpretation and cultural consulting services in more than 100 languages.
