A new program will provide resources to UWindsor students from any academic discipline interested in developing computer software.
The Developer Student Club is supported by the School of Computer Science and the Entrepreneurship Practice and Innovation Centre (EPICentre) in partnership with WEtech Alliance.
By joining, students build their professional and personal networks, get access to Google developer resources, and work together to build solutions for local problems in a peer-to-peer learning environment, says project lead Noah Campbell, a fourth-year computer science student.
“We are capitalizing on the success of some our recent initiatives that have brought national attention to UWindsor, particularly the 2019 Canadian Undergraduate Computer Science Conference, to partner with global organizations that in-turn create boundless opportunities for our students” he says.
“This is a great way to kick-off a capstone project or finally start that fantastic business idea you’ve been thinking about.”
The club will be housed in the EPICentre space on the second floor of the Joyce Entrepreneurship Centre, providing members access to the shared workshop space, hot desks, and other resources.
The executive has planned a series of events and is currently seeking new members to join the mailing list at https://bit.ly/2KXVGi6 to measure demand for workshops on Google products. To learn more, visit the club’s website at https://sites.google.com/view/dscwindsor/home.
