Comprehensive instrumentation and advanced controllers are connected to each engine test cell. The engine operating conditions are monitored and controlled with a network of desktop PCs, laptops, and real-time (RT) controllers embedded with field programmable gate array (FPGA). Custom designed control systems conmunicate between each control unit to enable full control of the test systems. A series of measurement equipment, such as pressure sensors and emission analyzers are connected to record engine operation conditions and provide feedback information.
