Admission Requirements

The following are minimum requirements to apply to the Odette MBA M&P program. Our team will evaluate each component of the application and only once all the required information has been submitted, will a decision be made.

Our team takes a holistic approach to each application. We consider each of the following requirements indvidually in order to assess a candidate and form an overall consideration on a candidate's suitability for the program.

A minimum of 5 years of full-time work experience between graduating with an undergraduate degree and the start of the program.

While all work experienced is recognized, we encourage students who have professional and managerial work experience.

An updated resume, showing your past work experience, education, etc. 

A cumulative GPA of 70% or above, calculated based on the last 2 years of full time studies of your qualifying degree.

You do not need a business undergraduate degree to apply. We encourage those with an assorted educational background to enroll into the program, as it presents different views and a more diverse cohort.

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is required prior to admission.

A high GMAT score is not only a strong admission criterion, but it is also used in awarding some entrance scholarships.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) may be taken in place of the GMAT.

One letter of reference. The letter of reference can be either academic or professional.

When completing the online application you will be required to enter the full name and contact information of your reference. Based on the information that you have provided in the online application your reference will be contacted via email to complete a confidential assessment.

Note: Your reference is contacted as soon as we receive your graduate application.

Applicants whose native language is not English must achieve a satisfactory score on one of the following tests.

Applicants are exempt from submitting an English language proficiency examination score if any one of the following conditions is true: 

  1. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at a Canadian institution.
  2. Within the past two years you have completed a university degree at an institution where English was the primary language of instruction, as indicated on our exemption list.

The letter of intent (1-2 pages) will outline the following;  

  • Why you want to complete an MBA
  • Your skills, knowledge, and past experiences
  • Your career goals and aspirations and how an MBA could help
  • Why you would be a good MBA candidate

Qualifying interview with the Program Administrator and/or Director of MBA.

For students that are out of town, a phone or virtual interview will be provided.
