Located on the first floor, adjacent to the University Bookstore and connected to a Tim Horton’s Café, the popular Michael Zin B.Comm Meeting Room is the primary undergraduate student lounge and study area at Odette.
This casual sunlight-filled space provides our students with their very own media centre from which they can observe the latest global financial trends. An electronic ticker tape and four 48-inch monitors communicate current business and financial information from around the world, including: updated charts on markets, stocks, commodities and currencies. This space also offers slim-client web terminals and Wi-Fi for convenient laptop connectivity.
Spearheaded by alumnus Pat Palmer, ’70, this room was dedicated in October 2008 to former Dean, Dr. Michael Zin, who devoted his entire career spanning almost forty years to the School of Business.
A true visionary, Dr. Zin pioneered the most innovative Accounting program in Ontario, right here at the University of Windsor in 1969. He was a dedicated teacher with a deep interest in helping students. His generosity led him to establish the Michael Zin Award for Accounting students. This room stands as a permanent tribute to Michael’s achievements, which continue to benefit the school today and will for many years to come.
