Wednesday, February 23, 2022 - 17:30

A Movie Night showcasing documentaries on Black Canadians by Black Canadians. It will have a panel and discussion. A celebration of an existence that is so often ignored.

About AfroFest

Afrofest is presented by the University of Windsor Students’ Alliance with aid from the university’s Black student groups and organizations. The African Diaspora Festival is a celebration of African Heritage Month which takes place in February.

The Festival consists of various cultural and educational activities that document and celebrate the contributions made by peoples of African descent to the world. The focus of this year’s festival is community solidarity and mental health. Afrofest wants to acknowledge the difficulties that arose these past few years and provide students, staff, and the overall Black community space with comfort and healing. This year’s events are various. Many events touch upon academic, creative, leisurely topics meant to push forward the discussion of anti-Black racism and resistance.
