Fall 2020 Bystander Course

Are you looking for a challenging, dynamic, and engaging course for the Fall 2020 term?

Take a Bystander Initiative course at UWindsor!  Join this important campus-wide initiative and work with other students to create a safer campus community for all!

In Practical Strategies for Social Change (3500), you will learn about how sexual violence becomes embedded in our everyday lives, and methods of creating personal and social change as a proactive bystander.

This course is offered for degree credit as a General Social Science, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology/Criminology, and Women’s & Gender Studies course credit.

Prerequisites include semester 4+ standing and approval of online application.  Preference will be given to students who can take Practicum in Social Change (4500) in a subsequent term. Our Practicum offers an excellent experiential learning opportunity.

These courses were not only impactful and personally transformative, but I also gained many critical leadership and professional skills. Facilitating workshops and engaging in community outreach events really helped boost my confidence and improve my public speaking.”  Jessica Glazewski, previous 3500 and 4500 student.

"The Bystander Courses are easily the most dynamic and enjoyable classes of my undergraduate studies. I can't say enough about the professional development and transformative experiences the courses provide. If you want to become involved on campus and truly make a positive difference, there are no better options than the 3500 and 4500 Bystander courses!" Jared Colthurst, 3rd Year Undergraduate Student, Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology.
