RESEARCH OVERVIEW:
The Trant Team’s interest lies at the interface of synthetic chemistry, medicine, materials, and biology. The lab operates computational drug discovery, synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, and formulation science facilities. We are most interested in new projects that are located at the nexus of these fields. Generally we use the tools of synthetic organic chemistry, guided by computational design, to create new biologically active compounds, or new materials. We then evaluate these molecules both within the lab and with collaborators to inform iterative generations of design. We work with both academic and industrial collaborators to solve problems that need a new way of looking at them.
We are a large team with constantly changing projects. For further details of what we are up to, please see the lab website at the link above!
