Alumnus Profile: Steve Malone

Steve MaloneA Windsor native, Steve Malone was a member of the inaugural class of the Bachelor of Arts and Science program. He graduated in 2007 with a major in biochemistry and a minor in history. In 2010, he earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in history from the University of Windsor under the supervision of Dr. Steven Palmer. During this time, he was the fortunate recipient of a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Canada Graduate Scholarship. Subsequently, Steve attended medical school at Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine and received his doctor of medicine (M.D.) degree in 2014. In July 2014, he began his family medicine residency in Windsor. 

Steve found his four years in Arts and Science to be extremely rewarding. He appreciated the opportunity to study a broad range of subjects alongside a small group of incredibly bright, motivated, and friendly colleagues. Steve also believes that the lessons he learned in the Arts and Science program have served him well since he graduated. With its commitment to developing analytical reasoning and communication skills in a diverse array of disciplines, the program prepared him to approach complex issues in the classroom and clinic from a variety of perspectives.    

During his spare time, Steve enjoys reading, running, and playing recreational sports such as basketball and tennis. He resides in Windsor with his wife, a fellow 2007 Arts and Science alumnus.
