Golf Tournament Day-of Volunteer Role Description (Role ID: V4-2018)


Role Purpose

This position is responsible for executing various day of-initiatives and activities at the annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament, July 30, 2018.


Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Running various on-course activities while providing friendly customer service to tournament guests
  • Selling raffle tickets for door prizes and other post-golf draws
  • Providing golfers and guests with information on the Alumni Association, its benefits and services and other items as required
  • Set up and take down of on-course activities, tents and displays where required
  • Provide feedback from golfers and guests to Golf Tournament Committee
  • Other duties as required

Skills / Qualifications

Required skills / qualifications include:

  • Friendly and energetic with a passion for engaging with the public
  • Strong customer service and communication skills an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills an asset, but not required

Time Commitment

  • Must be available to attend the Annual Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Ambassador Golf Club.
  • Some volunteers may be required to attend the event for the entirety of the day, approximately 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Working Conditions

  • Event takes place outdoors on a golf course which may include exposure to varying weather conditions including extreme heat or rain

Physical Requirements

  • This role requires standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, possibly upwards of 3 hours
  • Heavy lifting of objects less than 40 lbs. may be required (lifting boxes of promotional items, giveaway items and other outreach materials)

Other Requirements

  • Must have access to transportation on the day of the event
